The Civil Air Patrol (CAP)
is a non-profit public service organization that has
been in operation since 1941.
Its three missions are: 1)
Emergency services, 2) Cadet programs and 3) Aerospace
education.
The CAP has always provided
these valuable humanitarian services thanks to volunteer
membership. It’s the involvement of volunteers that
makes the CAP such a valuable resource for our
community. These volunteers, these unpaid citizens, in
their heart want to serve the community, giving of
themselves and setting a living example of leadership,
social responsibility and kindness.
In order for a CAP unit to
function at its fullest potential, a well-rounded and
highly technical set of training programs must be
implemented, developing an integrated ground and air
team that works closely together and in harmony. A
team ready to conduct badly needed search-and-rescue and
disaster relief missions for our community. Such a
transformation will be my emphasis during my command
tenure. I would like our squadron, TX435, to become a
highly integrated ground and air team capable of
functioning like a well-oiled machine. Fulfilling this
aim can and will make “Tex Hill’ one of the greatest
squadrons in Texas and perhaps the Nation. And
accomplishing this goal, of course, will need your
resourcefulness, dedication, and commitment to our unit
as well as the community..
I am happy to be in command
of the “Tex Hill” TX435 composite squadron, honored to
take part in shaping its future, and proud of having so
many generous and willing members in my command. I value
each and every one of you, and I'm glad to count myself
among you. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to contact me.
Leroy Friesenhahn, Capt., CAP
